$275 Tama 14x5.5” Soul Toul Snare drum. Limited edition made in Japan. Nickel over 1mm steel shell, puresound wires and beautiful. This is in used great condition a few scuffs, and this is the only one we have ever had.
From Tama: “It was my dream to make this snare drum” - Toru Soru, a drummer who has been active at the forefront of the Japanese music scene for over 40 years since his professional debut at the age of 12, describes his dream for the past 10 years. A snare drum produced by filling the inside of the upper and lower edges of the steel shell with silicone, a solid sound with suppressed overtones is achieved while retaining the high-frequency “squeal” unique to steel. Snappy’s fine ridges are clear, and it has the potential to perform not only in rock and pop music, but also in brass bands.”
